Aprille McShane - Freelance
As a practicing visual artist, I offer my expertise and mentorship through self-directed art classes for young people aged 11-16. My work often involves collaborating with communities, particularly youth, to inspire and engage them in the creative process through public art commissions.
To date, I have guided over 150 young people in achieving their Arts Explore Award. Several times, I have served as a tutor for Sheffield Hallam University's cohort for the National Saturday Club, where I designed and delivered a range of printmaking classes. My role involved developing class themes that engaged and challenged students, helping them to explore various printmaking techniques while fostering their creativity and confidence. In addition to the weekly sessions, I also led the planning and organization of the final exhibition, ensuring that students' work was professionally presented at Somerset House. This opportunity allowed me to guide young artists through the full creative process, from initial concept development to showcasing their achievements on a national platform.
