I’m a practising visual artist and creative facilitator based in Sheffield. My own practice moves between printmaking, painting, papercutting and playful experimentation with materials, and this same sense of curiosity and possibility runs through the creative workshops I lead.
I love helping people discover what can happen when they simply start making. My sessions are process-led, accessible and often begin with a subject, theme or idea as a starting point before allowing space for people to explore, experiment and find their own way of responding. I’m interested in the joy of making, rather than getting everything ‘right’, and in creating welcoming spaces where people feel comfortable having a go.
Over the years I’ve worked with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities; from individual tuition and school projects to family events, community programmes and council celebrations. I particularly enjoy creating opportunities for families and different generations to make and experience something together.
Printmaking is a particular passion, and I enjoy sharing its wonderfully hands-on nature, alongside drawing, collage, paper cutting and playing with found or everyday materials. I’m always looking for ways to make creative activity feel open, achievable and engaging, whatever someone’s previous experience.
For me, art can create moments of connection: between people, between generations, and between ourselves and the places we live. I bring over 12 years’ experience of creative facilitation alongside my continuing practice as an artist, and I’m happiest when I’m making, sharing ideas and encouraging other people to be curious and creative too.
