Green Gardens - Making Space For You & Me

Call out for Exhibition Contributions

On November 24th, we will be hosting an exhibition showcasing art and music from our "Green Gardens" project. This project aims to amplify the seldom heard voices of care-experienced young people and their families. Over the summer, we've had the privilege of working with many care-experienced children and young people, but we know there are more of you out there. If you'd like to contribute a creative piece to the exhibition, please find more details below.

In response to the "Art, Creativity, Culture – Sheffield's Children and Young People Speak Out" report, Create Sheffield has provided opportunities for care-experienced youth to engage in various artistic pursuits - from painting and singing to drawing and DJing. We can't wait to proudly showcase their remarkable talents.

We warmly invite care-experienced individuals of all ages, as well as their carers and support workers, to contribute to our upcoming "Green Gardens" exhibition. Our goal is to craft a space that narrates how people create environments that feel safe, exciting, happy, hopeful, and uniquely their own. We encourage submissions that honestly reflect the realities of care experience, as well as those that convey a sense of hope and possibility. We welcome a wide range of creative expressions, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, poetry, songs, crafts, and any other artistic endeavours you wish to share.

This event is open to all, and we hope that families and young people will come join the workshops, music-making, and experience the art that will be on display at the Millennium Gallery.
