What: Nature Connection & Forest School

Who: All Ages

Prioritise Nature Connection in the Curriculum

Working directly with young people or via CPD for staff, In Between the Trees offers one hour workshops to multi-day /termly packages to maximise the inclusion of nature into learning experiences. This could include running a long-term forest school project on your site, local park or woodland or might just involve a short conversation to discuss how to maximise your outdoor spaces.

Needing some creative bespoke ideas for interventions or nurture groups? I have specialist expertise in designing programmes for young people with complex needs and can work with you to devise sensory circuits, crafts, cross-curricular projects all linking with the natural world. My passion is to build capacity within settings to empower professionals to make small practical changes which have lasting impact.

In Between the Trees is led by an experienced teacher of 30 years - Forest School Association recognised provider and would love to support you to develop more of this kind of provision in Sheffield.

The benefits of using nature are well evidenced:

  • Provides sensory stimulation

  • Reduces stress & anxiety levels

  • Personalised & inclusive

  • Promotes self-regulation

  • Holistic & experiential

  • Promotes experience of awe

  • Reframes perspectives

  • More engaging

  • Boosts self-esteem

  • & many more!
